Altitude Simulation System / Pressure Control System
ETC's is world leader in the supply of environmental simulation equipment. Our Altitude Simulation System / Pressure Control System is used to perform engine tests including powertrain and emissions at both steady state and dynamic test conditions. ETC's system can provide pressure simulation in the form of altitude or boost above atmospheric conditions to achieve standard sea level or net positive pressure as seen in turbo-charging.
ETC's Altitude Simulation System is a uniquely designed system where altitude conditions up to 15,000 ft can be simulated at the engine intake and exhaust. The altitude simulation system includes a conditioned air system, which provides air at precisely controlled environmental conditions and a pressure control unit, which can precisely control both engine intake and exhaust manifold pressure using a special valve and vacuum pump system.
ETC's environmental simulation technology utilizes a Programmable Logic Controller with resident PID's, which gives the user flexibility in the transfer of data. The PLC can accept remote setpoints via Ethernet or discrete wiring from the facilities control system and retransmit the instantaneous value of the process variable. It also allows for the more complex control logic required during high speed, transient operation.
ETC's Altitude Simulation System is much more cost efficient than providing an Altitude Chamber, which has gained much attention during times of economic uncertainty. Remember ETC for all of your environmental simulation needs.
